Nowness Presents Pointé Black

Pointe Black, is a short Documentary about Marie-Astrid, a ballet dancer from Paris. She narrates her life growing up as a black dancer in a white privileged art. Using words and classical movement Marie tells her story of how she was treated in the ballet industry from adolescent through To adulthood.

It highlights racism, body shaming and bullying. It runs through a rollercoaster of emotions, but we discover one beautiful, strong and talented lady.
